The best way to rate the majority of things (including people) are the numbers zero to ten: ZERO being the worst, ONE is bad (a little bit better than zero), followed by TWO which is not too bad, yet it could be somewhat tolerable, THREE is not quite good, FOUR is of course more acceptable (like a B movie), FIVE is fair, SIX is on the way to being good, SEVEN is OK, EIGHT is good, NINE is almost great, and finally, TEN is excellent !
However, most hospitals use the ten rating system for pain just the opposite: ZERO is no pain, ONE to TWO is moderate discomfort, THREE to FOUR is mild pain, FIVE to SIX is moderate pain, SEVEN to EIGHT is severe pain, and TEN is extreme pain.
