People and pets

I love pets.  The most common pets are the dog and the cat. There are many  kinds of breeds and pedigrees. I believe it is fine to have a cat or a dog as a pet. I also believe that once you get a pet most of us treat them as if they are part of the family and talk to them as if they understand, especially dogs –  they seem to sense what you are telling them.  The benefit of having a pet is, you have a constant companion.  Besides, you can talk to them and tell them your troubles and pains so you can release your anger and frustration or, when you’re happy, share you happiness with them.  Also, they do not talk back, put you down, call you names, or give you grief.  And, they protect you, even with their lives, when you might be in danger. The only problem is,  we become too much attached to them and we lose our freedom to go special places or take a long vacation without worrying about them. The caveat about having a pet is the fact that they are like a small child that never grow up or become independent! However, one kind of pet that I would not ever own is the infamous pit bull.  You know why?  Under certain circumstances, and if the owners don’t have full control of them, they could seriously maim or even kill any person or any child that is available to them and happens to catch their attention.  Pit bull owners mistakenly think that their dogs are only very sweet – at least they are to them.   They do not realize, or perhaps simply do not want to acknowledge the inherent danger in owning such a potentially vicious “pet”.   So pit bull owners beware.

BY THE WAY…….

If people  could treat other people like they treat their pets,we would live in an almost perfect world!
