I am 91 and a half years old and I am realizing that there are many bad effects of being that old. The first one is forgetfulness. You forget to shut off the lights, shut off the water, close the door, and many other things. I have forgotten the names of actors very well known in the 1950’s and 1960’s, but that’s not important. You forget where you put the keys for the house or the car. You even forget to shut off the car! I have forgotten my checking account number.
The real problem is… there is no cure for old age. They say if you repeat a name three or four times it will stay in your mind. It’s not true. You forget one or two days later. Also, I have driven many times the same routes but lately in my mind it sometimes seems like I’ve never been there before. But I don’t expect any changes because in a few months I’ll be 92.
There are many other problems, but I don’t remember them at this time. Maybe later on. If I remember.
I would be very pleased to hear any comments regarding this issue.
